AREWA YOUTHS Promised to embrace Peaceful Coexistence as Orji Uzor Kalu Calls for Peace Talk.

The Former Governor of Abia state received AREWA YOUTHS for peace talk over their earlier ultimatum to Igbo living in the North.

The delegation of Areas youth led by the chairman of the group Alhaji Shettima Yerima after a successful meeting with OUK promised to sheath  their sword and promised to promote peace and national unity amongst all.

This afternoon, I received the leaders of the Coalition of Arewa  Youths led by its Chairman, Alhaji Shettima Yerima . It is the same group that made the Kaduna declaration in which three months  quit notice was given to the  Igbo people living in the North. The quit notice have actually been a source of worry to me because I knew the commitments of our people around the world not to talk more of being economic migrants in nature.

The unnecessary uprising caused by the quit notice inundated me to call them to order as nothing is too much to be sacrificed for peace. I believe the actions of these youth were borne out of frustration and I am happy that they have promised me today that they will further consult to  sheath their swords and denounce their declaration .

Today, they have given me their word of embracing peace and maintaining that no harm shall befall any of our people in the North. I believe in a united Nigeria where fairness, equity and justice are instituted . I also believe that our lives are sacrosanct and no Igbo blood should be spilled at any slightest provocation again .

Escaping Poverty, The Challenges of IGBO YOUTH and The Social Media Effects.

About 90% of our youths can relate to this topic, Poverty and how to escape its dark tunnel.

If your father does not have a company that will absorb you after graduation or has a political clout and influence to assist you with job even as a Personal Assistant to a Special Adviser to the government then you are within the perimeters of this subject.

In Igbo land today, university education is the norm, unlike in the past when after primary school or secondary school parents sends their children to apprenticeship in different lines of business and after 6 years of serving their master they are given seed funding  to startup their own from their Oga, this was how the self enterprising of Igbo people started. We help ourselves.

Something became very disturbing, the few who were education wangle in poverty while the uneducated ones were celebrated and very rich, but approaching retirement the educated ones who has gradually climbed the corporate ladder becomes the captains of different government agencies suddenly their wealth Booms!!!

As an Igbo man who believes that we must survive,  we tilted our ship to education, this is how the youths got trapped in poverty.

Unemployment sets in and everybody begins to find a means out but its never easy because their are lot of persons in the tunnel all trying to come out together but its too hard.

While others engage in political thuggery, some gets into crime then few others keeps submitting CVs in all the company in the country with hope of an interview which they will never get, until maybe a family friend asked them to come become a manager in their small business with peanuts as salary.

Today the advent of internet and social media has helped in reducing the monstrous effects of unemployment and poverty among the youths, though they are still unemployed but once in a while some political figures may call for social media chat that's it, they get invited after the chat they get paid. I can tell you that many youths survive with that today.

The latest trend today is SA on New Media, Media Directors, Bloggers these guys are really living better than some civil servants, though they may not be fully employed but their income in a month put together will leave you jaw dropped.

Social media has helped many persons and still helping but the best method out from poverty is self employment. 

Skill up, sell something, create value and make money. These are  the core components of Making money in this harsh economic weather.

Find a Problem - Solve it - Make Money!

PLANS BY SOME MISGUIDED ELEMENTS TO CAUSE DISTURBANCE OF PUBLIC PEACE IN THE STATE

Our attention has been drawn that some misguided elements have perfected plans to disrupt the relative peace through streets protests and to declare that the Anambra State Governorship Election Scheduled for November, 2017 will not hold. 

This is to achieve their selfish political aggrandizement thereby threatening democratic processes causing serious security threats in Anambra State in particular, and the Country at large.

This is unacceptable and would not be tolerated. In as much as the Command and sister agencies respect the Right of individuals to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, we would however not fold our arms and watch disgruntled elements truncate the peace in the State which the Law Enforcement Agencies are working assiduously to maintain. 

It is to be noted the Governorship Election has been scheduled for November, 2017 by the body responsible for elections in Nigeria and that is the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC); and is the only competent authority that can make any pronouncement regarding the conduct of elections. 

To this end, the security agencies wish to assure the good people of Anambra State that the Election shall hold as scheduled peacefully and successfully. We will not hesitate to deal decisively with any individual or groups under any guise that will disrupt public peace.

Finally, members of the public are enjoined to disregard such pronouncement and go about their lawful businesses. The security agencies further assure Ndi Anambra and all other residents in the State of their readiness to protect lives and properties.

DISABILITY IS OF THE MIND

If a man is lost in his mind, he cannot find it in his hands. Disability as it were is not a physical eyesore but a mental replacement. Imagine a man, who before starting a trade commences a programme or lays a foundation for a project and never saw it successfully - such is a disabled man and such a man or woman might not be fruitful in a million trails, unless he is healed and reoriented, for failure is not an incident but a decision.

Disability simply exults challenges and capitalizes on situation of things as an excuse for failure. Just in its English meaning,  a disabled is one who finds things difficult or impossible, no doubt there will always be a stumbling block of discouragement, gathering of mockery and vision killers. However, we must realize that all winners in life became winners in spite of negative and discouraging events. In spite of many years of failure and disgrace, Abraham Lincoln ruled America. No one expected Abraham Lincoln to be President but today, he is judged as the best president America ever had. Richard Nixon once said, "A man is not finished when he is defeated, he is finished when he quits".

The mathematicians can bear witness  that the geometric theories widely and conventionally used in solving mathematical and geographic problems was discovered and propounded by a physically challenged.

Over the years in Nigeria, the paralympians have performed better than there able bodied counterparts in the Olympics, athletes who represented Nigeria in Rio Olympics came back home with 8 golds, some silver and bronze medals making a total haul of 12 medals despite the inadequate funding that could have caused a limitation of setback.

A cripple cannot run up and down as an able bodied, but to his advantage, he has more time to meditate because his distractions are limited. How are you dealing with your disability? Don't allow your disability to render you redundant and use it as a license for begging, but see it as a stepping stone to make it in life for he who wallows in self pity, lacks initiative and hope.

Do not always be at the receiving end as a disable, but endeavor to be a giver and let self dependence be your watch word. It is not what you do or have that matters, but how you use what you have. Hence ensure to contribute your own quota to NATION BUILDING.

Disability is not being deformed or handicapped, but a thing of the mind. Disability is the inability of someone to contribute positively to NATION BUILDING - It is the believe that "I can't do it", an inability to be creative and take initiatives. The inability of government and the citizens to contribute positively to the growth of the Nation.

Let us come together as able bodied and physically challenged to contribute to the betterment of our Nation Nigeria and our dear state, Anambra. Let us shun all forms of disability and give ability a chance, and this country will be better for it.

Anambra Youth Council Launches a Movie, Music and Entertainment Agency (A-YET)

The National youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN  the Overall youth body unifying all the youths in Nigeria, with the objective of Empowering, Advocating, promoting the course of the youths.

The Anambra state chapter headed by comrade Frank Maduka JP who is actively involved in the advocacy campaign for empowerment of our youths and ensuring that the talented ones are projected to greatness through the council platform. He ensures that the youths benefits from all government programs and runs a transparent governance in the council to promote equity and Justice.

Anambra Youth Entertainment Team (A-YET) a Movie, Music, Modelling and Entertainment Agency launched by the State Council to discover Talents , Harness them and ensure that they become successful in their various fields of interest.

The Agency which was launched on Monday 22nd of August, has already started a general awareness of the program.

The State Chairman appoints Mr Jude E. Nwafor as the Director of Anambra Youths Entertainment Team ( A-YET)

Mr Jude Nwafor is are veteran actor,Stunt Director,Takwendo Specialist, Producer and a TV Presenter while receiving his appointment letter assured the Council of utmost loyalty and efficiency, he further vowed to produced a good movie before the end of this year.

Since the Announcement of THE CALL FOR AUDITION many youths in the state has declared their interest in joining the A-YET.

The  Audition is On Friday 26th of August 2016
